Weight Watchers Review - The Pro's and Con's to Weight Watchers Flex Points and Core Food Programs


Is Weight Watchers right for you? In this review I will discuss the main idea of the program and the pro's and con's to there approach to dieting. This review will also cover information on cost in relation to value.

Weight Watchers has been around for about 40 years and in that time there have been some minor changes to the program. For the most part Weight Watchers is still based mostly on counting calories and group counseling.

There are two main programs for you to choose from when you sign up. The Flex Points and the Core Foods program. The Flex Points are about counting the points Weight Watchers assigns to each food. You are give a certain amount of points for each day and your goal is to not go over these points. The Core Foods program is much different. You are given a list of foods. These foods are called the Core Foods and you can eat as much as you want of these foods as long as they are part of the Core Food plan.

Both programs offer benefits to the dieter such as flexibility in the foods you choose to eat. Sometimes the flexibility of these programs can be too much for some people and the perfect amount for others who need room in their dieting quest.

Weight Watchers also offers group counseling on online and off online which can provide positive support through your weight loss journey.

Weight Watchers Flex Points and Core Food program also have their shortcomings.

First, Many of us who are over weight got here because of lack of motivation in physical actives and bad eating habits. Weight Watchers does not put a large emphasis on physical actively, which does not give the dieter a true understanding of how to lose weight and keep it off.

Second, Weight Watchers also does not provide the dieter with a good understanding about nutrition. There is much more to losing weight and keeping it off than just counting calories or eating as much as you want of the healthy foods. If this were the case, Weight Watchers would have a much higher success rate and it could be the miracle diet that we have all been searching for.

The cost of the Weight Watchers programs varies between 45$ to 60$ a month and the cost of meetings are extra. My research of this program has lead me to believe that there are better and equal weight loss programs out there that offer many of the same benefits. Before you sign up to Weight Watchers I would do some research to make sure this is the right program for you.
